What’s in the bag of 2015 USPGA Championship winner and former World Number One, Jason Day
Jason Day has climbed some of the highest peaks possible within the game of golf, winning major championships and topping the table of the world golf rankings while competing against the likes of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, as well as becoming something of a fashion icon along the way.
For the man from down under to achieve these feats, though, he’s also had to deal with some extreme lows in both his own game as well as his personal health.
Born in Queensland, Australia, Day spent his younger years playing competitive junior golf throughout the country, and then internationally, earning victories against both fellow youngsters as well as elite level amateur men.
Day twice won the Australian Junior Order of Merit, took victory at the World Junior Championship in the 15-17 Boys division, and achieved a runner-up position in the 2005 Porter Cup, before finally turning professional in 2006.

Recognized as a talent early on, he was allowed into PGA Tour events as a sponsors invite from his first season, backing the trust up with five out of six cuts made including an 11th place best finish.
Day earned full PGA Tour status in 2008, before going on to win his first event at the 2010 HP Byron Nelson Championship and becoming the youngest Australian winner on the Tour.
2010 also saw Jason attend his first Major championship, gaining an invite to The Open Championship after Greg Norman withdrew.
From 2014 through 2016, Day enjoyed his largest successes of his career, his presence within the game growing stronger due to exceptional Major contention and strong performances on the PGA Tour. in particular, he achieved eight wins across 2015 and 2016, including his three-stroke victory over Jordan Spieth for the USPGA Championship.
After 2016, however, Day’s form has been inconsistent from season to season although not without further triumphs, including a second Farmers Insurance Open title in 2018 and a repeat of his first PGA Tour victory at the AT&T Byron Nelson in 2023.
Jason spent most of his career as a TaylorMade equipment user, signing on with them in his first pro season, as well as being an ambassador for clothing giants Adidas and Nike during his time. His latest clothing sponsor, Malbon, however, has had heads turned for very different reasons.
Now a free agent when it comes to his golf clubs, Jason Day has gained a reputation for experimentation in his bag, having used a variety of brands and models, including a set of irons with bulge and roll face curvature in the same vein as Bryson DeChambeau.
